Today I arrived back in Fluffington. The wee ones were so glad to
see me when I got back home. The camping trip with my cousin Lenard was
reminiscent of the walkabouts we enjoyed together as lads in Australia.
The bus ride to Fay was anything but uneventful. There were about
a dozen passengers plus a few. A lady poodle was in the seat to my left on the other side of the aisle. She
kept looking at me as though she had never seen a Koala before. I must admit.
There are a few of us in the states. You don't know how hard it was not to catch
her looking and go BOO! "Mind you manners Sydney old boy." I said to
myself.
We were about 75 miles out of Fluffinton when a tire on the bus
blew out. Everyone got out for a stretch. A young mother Labrador was there
with her twins. I could tell that one was not feeling well. The other told me I
had a big nose and small eyes. "Yes, yes I do." I introduced myself to the
mother and told her that I had been a doctor at Radville University hospital.
We talked about her wee sick child. I never travel without my medical bag. I
went back into the bus to get it but before I could get back the little guy
tossed his kibbles. What was the problem? He was only carsick. I offered him a
sucker, to settle his and his stomach. He wanted the green one. His twin said that
his tummy was upset too. He wanted the red one. At last, the tire was changed
and off we went. I think the puppies slept all of the way to Fay.
Tired from the long ride, I stayed overnight with Lenard. We had
and early start the next day. Lenard was as excited as I was. We hadn’t been on
walkabout together sense we were lads back in Australia.
